The inaugural Bahrain Art Week Singapore, presented by Art Bahrain Across Borders, held its VIP Preview on Oct 22 with more than 200 invited guests including Guest of Honour Mr Ho Meng Kit, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Business Federation and Shaikha Maram Bint Isa Al Khalifa, Director of the Office of Her Royal Highness, Wife of the King of Bahrain.

Held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of the King of Bahrain, the exhibition will showcase 18 artists and over 70 pieces of artwork in varying media such as oil, pastels, acrylic and water-colour. Curated around the theme ‘Legacy’ by Amrita Kilachand and Kaneka Subberwal, these diverse works represent the Kingdom’s well-established and lively contemporary art tradition in a country steeped in culture, art and heritage that goes back 5,000 years to the Dilmunic era.

Bahrain Art Week Singapore takes place at the Museum of Contemporary Arts (27A Loewen Road) from Oct 23 to 27, from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm daily.
