It was the perfect blend of golf and luxury at the inaugural Glenfiddich Golf Invitational — an exclusive, by-invitation-only event that took place in July, at the Serapong Golf Course.
Glenfiddich reserved the entire golf course for a community of 80 players, who secured their place on the green by purchasing a bottle from the distillery’s 30-year-old Suspended Time Series. The time-honoured spirit boasts a deep, mellow flavour with layers of complexity. This exceptional single malt whisky has earned numerous accolades, and it continues to impress connoisseurs and novices alike. Invited players also received a curated welcome pack, which included an exclusive J. Lindeberg shirt and the newly released Adidas MC80.

Guided by the Glenfiddich Time Re:Imagined Series, the golf course was transformed into a canvas of inventive challenges. Inspired by the encapsulation of three decades of aging and patient maturation in the Glenfiddich 30 Year Old, Hole 2’s “Suspended Time Challenged” challenged participants to achieve the longest pause in time of their ball in the air.
At Hole 5, the “Cumulative Time Challenge” mirrored the Glenfiddich Time Re:Imagined 40 Year Old whisky’s evolution over four decades, blending precision and time through a test of distance and accuracy, gauged by a GCQuad launch monitor.
Hole 8’s “Simultaneous Time Challenge” celebrated teamwork and required teamwork to sync putts, much like the harmony of richness and detail born of the maturing of the Glenfiddich 50 Year Old.
As the sun sets, guests were treated to refreshing highballs and a menu designed to harmonise with the nuanced flavours of Glenfiddich expressions include the Gran Cortes 22-year-old, currently only available to private clients of William Grant & Sons, raising a toast to the winners of the day.
The overall winner received an exclusive tour of the brand’s distillery in Scotland and a rare glimpse into the process and innovation behind every bottle.
The Glenfiddich Golf Invitational was a day of heightened luxury and aims to be a continued series where golfers can enjoy top-notch performance on the course while indulging in the finest experiences off it.
