[dropcap size=big]E[/dropcap]veryone gets one life, but nobody is limited to just one passion with which to fill it. It is this philosophy that drives Rémy Martin’s latest campaign: One Life/Live Them. Rather than be defined by a single thing that you do, the French cognac house wants you to meet new people, go to new places and try new things. Because living fully and freely is, after all, the ultimate luxury.

The series kicked off with Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner fronting the campaign, because on top of being a talented actor, he is a musician, producer and home renovator. Now Rémy Martin has introduced its second multi-talented ambassador – Huang Xiaoming.

The Chinese actor, singer and model is best known for his TV roles in The Return of the Condor Heroes and The Patriot Yue Fei, as well as starring in movies like The Message and Ip Man 2. But he’s also a keen investor in red wine, food, golf and Internet banking, as well as a philanthropist and environmentalist, serving as ambassador to Unicef and China’s Panda Protection Research Centre, to name a few.

“The campaign slogan describes me perfectly, as I’m not a person who is easily satisfied with one’s current life, so I will always work harder to do more and do better. It’s just like acting; I love trying different roles,” he says.

“In the movie American Dreams in China, there is a line asking what a dream is. A dream can bring happiness and motivation, but young people today don’t have the courage to do something about theirs. I think it’s important to put real effort into whatever you do, as it is the only way to demonstrate one’s talents. Stick to the things that make you happy, and live your life!”

Rémy Martin’s dream is singular — to create an exceptional cognac — but the journey is anything but. The complex process involves know-how across numerous specialities. So the next time you’re savouring a sip of the cognac, enjoy the moment, and all the many facets of it.
