Come this weekend, APS Lifestyle Gallery will be transformed into a temporal upscale marketplace for over 30 merchants to showcase their wares. This year, the theme for the third 9MCM annual pop-up (short for 9 Muthuraman Chetty Market) is Jubilee Marketplace, where participating merchants will unveil 50 iconic gourmet or retail creations in celebration of the nation’s fiftieth birthday.

For food, places like Sunday Market will present their own take on traditional kaya toast, while online retailer Neuvo Vino will be shaking up fresh concoctions with a local spin like kopi and teh cocktails topped with savoury warm egg foam for that nostalgic coffee shop flavour. Other familiar names like Morsels (chef-owner Bryan Chia was named Rising Chef of the Year at the World Gourmet Summit Awards in April), &Sons and Cocotte will also be dishing out new creations along with some of their signatures.

On the retail front, The General Company will introduce plates with local symbols like HDB flats while Scene Shang will showcase a range of cushion covers that display landmarks like Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. Fashion label Whole9Yards and bespoke kitchenware brand Plane & Bevel are some of the other participating merchants this year.

Half of the sale proceeds from these Jubilee creations will go towards a designated old age home as an expression of APS Lifestyle’s gratitude to the pioneer generation and their contributions to Singapore.

9MCM will be held at APS Lifestyle Gallery, 9 Muthuraman Chetty Road, from 20 Jun to 21 Jun.
Opening hours: 11am-8pm, free admission.
