Art Stage Singapore has announced its first overseas venture by opening a second branch of the fair in Jakarta, Indonesia. The fair will be held from Aug 5 to Aug 7 at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel, and will have 50 galleries dedicated to Indonesian contemporary art.
This move rides on the thriving art market in Indonesia, and seeks to bolster the leading South East Asian art fair’s partnerships with international art collectors. “Art Stage Jakarta will be complementary to what we do in Singapore and will serve to strengthen the art market here,” says Lorenzo Rudolf, founder and president, Art Stage Singapore and Jakarta.
