CNY 2018 dog themed items

01: Johnnie Walker

In celebration of Chinese New Year, Johnnie Walker has released a new limited edition of its Blue Label bottle. Designed by Taiwanese artist Page Tsou, whose past works include collaborations with luxury brands such as Gucci and Montblanc, the Blue Label Year of the Dog bottle features the brand’s Striding Man logo with a dog as they travel the world. Three breeds originating from different regions of Asia, such as the Formosan Mountain Dog from Taiwan, Chinese Shar Pei from China and Akita from Japan, have been featured in the illustrations. They represent the various cultures that celebrate Lunar New Year.

The Blue Label is crafted by a team of 12 whiskey makers, led by two-time Master of the Year blender Jim Beveridge and only one in 10,000 casks are used to craft the Blue Label.

02: Risis

Risis has picked out five dogs for this year’s Zodiac 2018 collection of decorative ornaments, featuring breeds such as Afghan hound, poodle, Tibetan terrier, schanuzer and golden retriever. Usher in the new year with these loyal companions made from precious metals, such as ‘Lucky’, the poodle that comes in rose gold, heralds the promise of prosperity and symbolises successful achievement of one’s goal. Alternatively, pick the golden retriever ‘Champ’ crafted from 24k gold, standing on top of a Yuan Bao adorned with laurel berries made from Liu Li to grant wealth and honor to those who receive it.

03: Bottega Veneta

Adding on to the canine theme is Bottega Veneta’s new capsule collection of accessories. It features wallets and pouches with dachshund shapes handwoven in nappa, embroidered with dog breeds such as poodles, German shepards and chihuahuas or an all-over pattern of man’s best friend printed in white or gold. Key holders featuring intrecciato, the company’s leather weaving techniques, and phone cases of a puppy chasing a butterfly are also available for grab.
