[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]xplore the French regions of Alsace and Champagne from its many rivers and canals. Come summer 2017, luxury travel operator Belmond will be adding two new boats to its fleet of luxe barges in France, the Belmond Lilas in Alsace and Belmond Pivoine in Champagne. Designed by Inge Moore, who also worked on the first luxury sleeper train in Peru, the Belmond Andean Explorer, the barges are each furnished with the colours of the flowers in the region (lilacs in Alsace and peonies in Champagne), as well as includes an open deck with a swimming pool. Both boats accommodate eight guests each in four en-suite cabins.
