Luxury homes: A modern Mediterranean-inspired condo with smart design hacks

This navy-and-blue home incorporates geometric tiled accents and a few other smart design tricks that make it both stylish and practical.

Creative and quirky — these words characterise the work of Carmen Tang from Wolf Woof, and this modern Mediterranean-inspired home was no different.

When the homeowners approached Carmen to design their two-bedroom condominium apartment, their brief was to open up the cramped kitchen, and to use a colour scheme of blue and yellow.

Carmen came up with the concept of the Mediterranean-inspired home as she wanted to create a calm, tranquil home for them to relax in. “This is especially important with the new work-from-home needs,” she says. As for the colour scheme, she proposed using navy and white as the predominant colours, with yellow as an accent hue.

The homeowners themselves chipped in with creative ideas for the home, such as using a sunny rug as wall decor. As a result, the look is a unique collaboration between both homeowners and designer.

The home features geometric tiled accents and plenty of botanicals that add a contemporary, yet relaxing holiday-home feel. The wall decor is actually a rug, which the homeowners had decided to display in pride of place instead of on the floor.
