Power Couples

[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]arely two weeks ago, The Peak celebrated an evening of cross-cultural sharing with the attendance of over 80 ambassadors, high commissioners, senior consular personnel and their partners – dressed in their national costumes – in addition to key corporate business leaders.

Held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, the evening brought together over 220 guests. Traditional outfits, ranging from bespoke cashmere cheongsams to billowing Nigerian agbada robes, brought a dazzling array of colour to the black-tie affair. Many of the attendees gamely took to the floor to participate in the Polish Polonaise folk dance (after a short instructional session, of course).

Proceeds from ticket sales that evening raised $31,000 for the MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund, a Voluntary Welfare Organisation helping children and their families break out of the poverty cycle.

We naturally took the opportunity to glean some insight from the attending Ambassadors on their respective cultures.
