Rolls-Royce Cullinan scale model featured

The Cullinan was revealed in May 2018 as the off-road capable cousin of the Phantom, having been announced three years prior. As the marque’s first SUV, it delivers anything you’d expect from a high-rise, all-wheel drive off-roader – along with the requisite opulence and refinement you’d expect from a Rolls. A year later, enter the Rolls-Royce Cullinan – in 1:8 replica form, as a timely reminder for what’s out there.

While you can’t exactly get into this model to tackle any dunes or rugged terrain like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, it’s a replica that is about as faithful as it gets: like we’ve said, it’s made out of over a thousand parts that can be customised to get exactly the model you want.

Every miniature Culinan is individually crafted by hand according to specifications, taking up to 450 hours – more than half the time required for a full-sized version of the car. Think of it as Rolls-Royce’s reminder for what awaits after the Covid-19 pandemic, especially when it comes to appreciating the joys of a luxury automobile.

Says CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Torsten Muller-Otvos, “It demonstrates, and reminds us as a company, that Inspiring Greatness applies at every scale. It is not just about the big things: we seek and achieve greatness in everything we do, down to the smallest item and minutest detail.”

That includes hand-painted and polished layers of Rolls-Royce colour-matched paint from a palette of 40,000 colours, fully-functioning remote-controlled exterior lights and a perfect imitation of the car’s iconic 6.75 litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine.

Everything else, from the embroidery and stitching of the seats to the interior panelling and finishes, are made to resemble a full-sized Cullinan. Great if you’d like to recreate your luxury car to display at home on a glossy, black plinth – or even better if you’re envisioning a future model for your collection.

While this might not get you access to their exclusive Rolls-Royce owners only club, it’d at least give you an idea of the British marque’s commitment to the details – and how they’ve lived up to their legendary reputation for more than a century.

Sir Henry Royce, one of the founders of Rolls-Royce, said, “Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thing.” The Rolls-Royce Cullinan scale replica is living proof of that statement.
