The Louis Vuitton boutique at Ion Orchard just got a bit of a makeover. Enter the store and you’ll find yourself hit by floor-to-wall coverings featuring a vibrant print that incorporates an oversize monogram and bold, graphic strokes.
This visual jolt celebrates the pre-launch of the brand’s new Crafty collection. Playful, artistic and bold, the designs are inspired by two artistic movements from the second half of the 20th century – graffiti art and neo-expressionism. Exemplified by the works of artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, neo-expressionism typically expresses familiar objects in a vivid and almost harsh manner.
This collection features a print from Louis Vuitton’s archives, which has been paired with the Monogram Giant motif in black. Including ready-to-wear as well as accessories such as leather goods, sneakers and travel items, most of the pieces come in either of two colour schemes: Cream and red, or cream and caramel. Used on some of the items, the brand’s Monogram Empreinte embossed calfskin adds a supple and subtle touch on handles and straps. Here’s a look at highlights from the collection:
