The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisation (SCWO) commemorated International Women’s Day (IWD) with their 4th Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF) Gala Dinner on 24th March at Shangri-La Hotel and the evening was graced by Mrs. Mary Tan, wife of President Tony Tan.
Every March, the council celebrates IWD with a Gala Dinner and SWHF induction ceremony. SWHF was launched in 2014 to acknowledge outstanding women of Singapore. It is the celebration of the women who have made, or are making, an impact on our nation and went against odds. This year, 7 Honourees were inducted at the Gala Dinner, inspiring women from across all generations. They include Sylvia Kho, Theresa Chan Poh Lin , Wong-Lee Siok Tin, Aisha Akbar, Anita Sarawak, Marjorie Doggett and Rahimah Rahim.
