Andaz Singapore

Andaz Singapore

Slated to open in September 2017, the 342-room Andaz Singapore combines the brand’s trademark sense of grown-up fun with an impeccable address, courtesy of its lofty perch in starchitect Ole Scheeren’s ambitious DUO skyscraper in the Ophir-Rochor neighbourhood. The hotel features 26 luxury suites, residential-style event venues with floor-to-ceiling windows and loft kitchens, the only rooftop bar in downtown with 360-degree views, and a street-dining-in-the-sky food and beverage concept at Alley on 25.  Leading the hotel’s opening is general manager Olivier Lenoir who hails from Switzerland. Prior to joining Andaz Singapore, this experienced hotelier and Hyatt veteran was the hotel manager at Grand Hyatt Singapore. He’s also worked in Grand Hyatt Jakarta, Grand Hyatt Shenzhen and Grand Hyatt Taipei.

Sofitel Singapore City Centre

French chic arrives at Tanjong Pagar. Opening in July 2017 at Tanjong Pagar Centre (Singapore’s tallest building), along Wallich Street, is the younger sister to the glammed up Sofitel So in Robinson Road. This new Sofitel features 223 high-ceilinged rooms dressed in plush furnishings, silky wall panels and soft pastel colours. If the outdoor 30m swimming pool doesn’t tempt, perhaps the interactive market style kitchen might. Executive chef Jean-Charles Dubois will be helming the F&B outlets including Racines (meaning roots in French) , which serves French classics as well as contemporary Chinese delicacies prepared by two brigades of chefs using custom-built Marrone stoves from Italy.
