Belgium's King's Day Reception 2018

On Nov 12, HE Andy Detaille, Ambassador of Belgium to Singapore, hosted the annual King's Day reception at Tower Club Singapore. Philippe De Backer, Belgium's Secretary of State for the fight against Fraud, Privacy and North Sea; and Cathy Berx, Governor of Antwerp, were present with a 40-strong delegation of Belgian CEOs and business owners. Singapore's Senior Minister of State Dr Maliki Osman also graced the event. Prominent members of the Belgian community and the diplomatic corps were also in attendance. Professor Arnoud De Meyer, President of Singapore Management University, received the "Commander in the Order of Leopold" recognition for his impressive career and continuous efforts in promoting Belgium. This honour was created in 1832 by H.M. King Philip of Belgium.
