Burberry’s Future Archive pays tribute to its storied heritage

Inspired by the brand's classics, each piece in this limited-edition collection is numbered.

With a history dating back to 1856, Burberry has a rich heritage that offers no end of inspiration to its creative team helmed by Riccardo Tisci. The English luxury brand recently launched Future Archive, a limited-edition capsule collection inspired by archival classics.

Made in limited quantities, each piece in the collection comes with its own edition number. Unsurprisingly for a label synonymous with the trench coat and which originally focused on outdoor apparel, the collection is centred around outerwear: Prep for future holidays or simply stay warm in our recent chilly weather in pieces such as diamond-quilted coats (complete with trench-inspired cotton-gabardine back panels), as well as bomber and field jackets.

In addition, the collection features tailored jackets and trousers, and plenty of accessories including bucket hats, backpacks, sneakers, scarves and Cube bags. Will these become references for future generations of Burberry designers? Time, as they say, will tell.
