Looking to transition into military watches but still want them slick enough to sport with a dinner jacket? Then you’ll want the new Longines Avigation. It’s not the first watch by the brand that uses the portmanteau of “aviation” and “navigation” but it’s certainly the tamest one of the lot. No oversized crown or offset dial here, but just a simple black dial with white numerals and a 24-hour scale in red, with all indexes coated in Superluminova. This self-winding, anti-magnetic watch was based on a 1949 model that was produced for the British Army. We reckon English soldiers had to look good, too.
