Fans of classical music, mark your digital calendars. A trio of Perpetual Music concerts presented by Rolex will be livestreamed on various dates until September and will remain available on the medici.tv platform until October. The concerts will take place in Italy, Germany and France.

Part of an initiative launched by Rolex, these performances support musicians affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The three shows will involve about 100 artists.

Each concert will feature one of three Rolex testimonees: Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez, Mexican-born French tenor Rolando Villazon, and Bulgarian-Swiss soprano Sonya Yoncheva. One of the initiatives' organisers is French violinist Renaud Capucon, who will also be participating in the Paris concert.

Broadcast on the free streaming service medici.tv, these performances will reach audiences in over 180 countries. Arnaud Boetsch, Rolex's director of communication and image, says,“Our aim is to support the world of music and provide the opportunity to musicians and singers to have their art live on by performing at prestigious venues with the finest acoustics."

Show schedule:

  • Aug 21 (Fri), 2am — Teatro Rossini, Pesaro, with Juan Diego Florez, featuring Rossini Symphony Orchestra.
  • Sept 1 (Tue), 2am — Berlin Staatsoper, with Sonya Yoncheva in a recital programme.
  • Sept 3 (Thu), 2am — Opera National de Paris (Palais Garnier), with Rolando Villazon and Renaud Capucon, featuring a repertoire of baroque and chamber music.
