[dropcap size=small]G[/dropcap]abrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel’s favourite colour was red.

This might come as no surprise. After all, the first red lipstick she created in 1924 boasted an intense shade of vermillion, a hue which has become a signature at the French luxury house today.

From Oct 17 – 21, all things red will take centre stage at Le Rouge, a beauty pop-up by the brand at Mohamed Sultan Road. A tribute to the late Gabrielle Chanel, the interactive set-up gives fans of Chanel three distinct areas to explore.

Over at the Red Factory, those curious about the creation of Chanel products will find large industrial tanks sitting within a crimson cage, each showcasing various lipsticks and nail polishes. Makeup stations line the room, allowing guests to test and experiment with different shades and textures of red.

At the Red Corridor dedicated to the iconic Chanel no. 5 fragrance – this time presented in an irresistible crimson hue instead of the usual clear flacon – one might feel like they are walking through the perfume bottle itself when venturing down this passageway.

The journey concludes with cocktails served up at the pop-up’s Red Bar lounge, where day-time drinking is most certainly encouraged. Coco would approve.
