Head to The Coconut Club, Singapore’s popular nasi lemak restaurant for satisfying spicy fried chicken accompanied by other dishes. The outlets at Beach Road and Frankel Avenue feature the signature ayam goreng berempah – spiced fried organic chicken with specialty hot sauce. The Coconut Club uses only fresh organic GG poulet chicken from long-time partner Toh Thye Seng farm in Johor Bahru. Each piece of chicken is first marinated for 12 hours in housemade rempah (a mix of spices such as galangal, lemongrass, ginger and shallots). The chicken is then fried at a low temperature over a longer period, resulting in the signature crisp, juicy chicken studded with crispy batter bits.
