
The buzz is back at the Marina Bay Street Circuit as Singapore gears up to host the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix for the 14th time this weekend, from September 30 to October 2. It has been two long years since defending champion Sebastian Vettel held up the championship cup in pole position to roaring cheers in the F1 Pit Building.
The 1,600 or so flood lights are up around the race circuit, race stars and their teams are streaming into Singapore from around the world and a crowd of more than 286,000 are expected to throng the circuit park to watch the racers paint the town red. McLaren’s Lando Norris was one of the earlier birds to arrive in Singapore.
