These are our picks for spooky delights this Halloween.
01: Carousel Buffet
Guests are in for a sweet treat on Oct 31 at the dessert counter of Carousel Buffet’s Halloween dinner. Look out for Black Cat, a salted caramel double chocolate cake, and Eyeball Shooter, a raspberry lychee mousse with berry puree sauce. You can also choose creations inspired by Freddy Krueger, the fictional Friday the 13th killer from "A Nightmare on Elm Street", such as marquise with double chocolate mousse or raspberry mint ice-cream.
In this season of trick or treats, ice-cream and dessert parlour Sugarhaus is offering two new Halloween specials, named The Brain and The Mummy. The Brain is made from pistachio mousse, pistachio sponge and strawberry jelly layered with buttercream while The Mummy consists of shortbread sable, lemon parfait and lime jelly. Both desserts are available for dine-in and takeaway until the end of this month at $8++/each.

On Oct 28, The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore prepares a Halloween dinner party alongside seven ‘live’ stations offering international buffet themed treats. Choose from seafood dishes such as the Alaskan king crab, stone-grilled lobster with scamorza, a selection of European cheeses and pork jowl char siew in broth. In addition, pumpkin pie and candy apples are available as part of the Halloween dessert selections. Guests can also have their photos taken at a photo booth. Reservations are made through email or phone.
Local and international cuisine buffet restaurant Oscar’s is offering Sunday brunch on Oct 29 featuring Halloween-themed dishes. Guests can enjoy steak and lobster at its BBQ stations or supernatural creations such as “Chinese Zombie Pumpkin Soup with Crab Meat” and “Vampire Roasted Beetroot and Garlic Soup”, as well as pair their dinner with Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz gin. Finish the meal with desserts like “Chocolate Red Velvet Ghosts” and a pumpkin carving competition.
From Oct 27 to 31, Jamie's Italian introduces a Halloween special menu with items such as fried ball pumpkin risotto with cheese fondue and parmesan, beetroot risotto made from carnaroli rice, arugula and feta cheese as well as giant meatballs served with braised kale and white beans. The special menu is served at both VivoCity and Forum outlets.
Former executive chef of PYXIEMOSS, Tim Ross-Watson, will be joining Kilo Kallang as a guest chef of the night on Oct 28 for a Halloween feast. Guests will enjoy a 5-course molecular gastronomy meal of dishes like squid with mushroom, black rice and pumpkin with cream. Walk-ins are welcomed but reservations are recommended.
