Song of India
Make it a spicy Mother’s Day this year at the one Michelin-starred Song of India, where mom dines for free with every group of four diners. Head for a leisurely brunch buffet that encompasess different regional flavours of India including Hyderabad and Rajasthan. Indulge in dishes like a Kerala specialty: malabar fish curry, a dish of seabass with coconut and tamarind. There’ll also be other treats like adraki mutton, spiced with fragrant ginger, and a “live” station offering Bombay street food. For something a little more formal, the restaurant will also be offering a 4-course dinner with plenty of indulgent dishes like tiger prawns char-grilled in the tandoor and coated with sesame; and dal maa dumpukht — a delicacy of spiced lentils slow cooked until rich and creamy. There’s also an offer at the adjoining Amrith — head to the restaurant’s garden area for 1-for-1 signature cocktails and mocktails at the bar.

Mitzo
Treat mom to a contemporary Chinese feast at crowd favourite Mitzo. On 11 and 12 May, the restaurant will be offering a special Mother’s Day brunch buffet featuring over 50 different items including dim sum, soul-warming soups, and exquisite dishes like cheese-baked lobster with creamy seaweed sauce; and braised abalone with tofu in carrot broth. If the two days are off the cards, Mitzo also has a 5-course menu that will be available throughout the month of May. Tuck into lobster topped with preserved red yeast and garlic in soy sauce; as well as elegant appetisers like truffle chicken and caviar shrimp dumplings. There’s also an exclusive cocktail created just for the special day: The Matriarch, a refreshing combination of spiced rum, sparkling rose, plum bitters, and rose and apple syrup.

Li Bai
For traditional Cantonese cuisine, Li Bai offers one of the best experiences in town. They’ll be offering a variety of 6-course menus that feature indulgent disheslike mini bird’s nest Buddha Jumps over the Wall; and steamed “live” marble goby with their signature X.O. chilli sauce. Other highlights include crispy-skinned Peking duck, and fresh king prawn to pamper mom with. Complete the celebrations with a staycation — Sheraton Towers Singapore will be offering weekend packages (valid till the end of May) with a complimentary high tea set at the Lobby Bar.

Salt grill & Sky bar
Mark the occasion with a view from the 55th story of ION Orchard, complete with a delectable Modern Australian menu at Salt grill & Sky bar. Choose between a 3-course lunch menu and a 4-course dinner, which will include dishes like Jerusalem artichoke and truffle soup; and Bangalow pork ravioli. Other highlights include Cone Bay barramundi with New Zealand clams, confit tomato and kombu emulsion; and an Asian-inspired dessert of coconut, mango, kaffir lime and pandan sago.

D9 Cakery high tea buffet
Take the time off for a sweets-filled high tea with mom at D9 Cakery. Savouries like grilled (lacto-fed) chicken with Portuguese sauce; vegetarian cheeseburgers prepared with Impossible Meat; and even nasi lemak will be available to start the meal. What you want to save space for though, is the buffet’s centrepiece: a 6 metre-long artisanal dessert showcase. On display will be many of executive pastry chef Cindy Khoo’s creations like the Summer Luxe Tart, a treat specially created for the occasion featuring luxurious fresh fruit puree, Valrhona Opalys white chocolate and a shortcrust base, all crowned with seasonal berries and a garden of edible flowers. To top it all off, there’s be unlimited coffee, and TWG teas on offer.

Yan
As the saying goes: “health is priceless”. At Yan this year, the Mother’s Day menu will be themed after healthfulness. Nourishing ingredients including wild cordyceps, and maca will feature in the 7 and 9-course menus. Expect dishes like steamed soon hock fish with garlic, mandarin peel, and cordyceps — the lattermost is said to improve one’s immune system and relieve fatigue in traditional Chinese medicine. Other ingredient highlights include the rare black Ningxia wolfberries, which are said to contain high levels of antioxidants and much more vitamins than the common red varieties. At Yan, this goes into a moreish pumpkin broth together with crabmeat. Even with all that focus on health, there’s no missing Yan’s signatures: their roast crispy suckling pig to mark the celebratory occasion.

Curate
For the month of May, Curate will be offering a modern German menu for Mother’s Day. Resident chef Benjamin Halat will present such dishes as Frankfurter Grune Sosse, a fine-dining spin on a traditional Frankfurt dish of “green sauce” made with chopped eggs and herbs, usually served with boiled potatoes. Halat’s version features confit egg yolk, potato ragout, and a fresh herb sauce topped with ossetra caviar. Other highlights include binchotan-grilled scallops on braised sauerkraut and pork terrine; and a dessert of wild strawberry tart, sour cream custard, and strawberry-rose sherbert. If the menu doesn’t sound enticing enough, mom dines with with 2 set menus ordered; and will also receive a complimentary M∙A∙C Cosmetics Express Makeover voucher to pamper herself further.

Mum prefers simple Chinese cuisine? Goodwood Park’s popular Taiwan Porridge A La Carte Buffet will hit the spot. Mum can make unlimited orders from a list of more than 30 options, such as the savoury Braised Pork Belly with Dark Soy Sauce, Stir-Fried Kang Kong with Sambal, and Fried Omelette with Chye Poh (preserved vegetables). When paired with a hearty sweet potato porridge, it’s a comforting meal for all ages. Bonus? The buffet comes with a dessert buffet that’s heaped with D24 Durian offerings. There’s a ‘live’ pancake station that you can fill with a luxurious D24 durian filling, as well as the new D24 Pandan Lapis Coconut Cake and D24 Chendol Pudding, not to mention the D24 Mousse Cake and D24 Puff. Fat Chap
Because we’re a lover of Asian cuisine, this one got us pretty excited. Fat Chap is presenting a communal table spread or Kembul Bujana, a common Indonesian practice to party over a feast. An impressive, Instagram-worthy lush platter of Nasi Tumpeng (a Southeast Asian cone-shaped rice dish with side dishes) awaits — with coconut scented butterfly pea rice, roasted kampong chicken, grilled whole fish, tempeh, perkedel and sambal prawns. It’s also served with sides of prawn crackers, caramelised silverfish and peanuts, egg ribbons and a variety of vegetables cooked two ways. End the meal with a refreshing shaved ice dessert with fresh coconut and rose syrup – traditionally named Es Kopyor.
Before the meal, mum can also glean some tips from a live cooking demonstration by Medanese head chef Selamat Susanto. He will be showcasing a simple kampong chicken marinate recipe and demonstrating how to prepare perkedel or potato cake at home. Mum will thank you for this.

The Spot
Charm your music-lover mum with a jazzy brunch that pairs a delectable spread with live breezy tunes from local duo, Iwee and Emmeline. First, the meal: Start with a toast of cava and an array of treasures from land and sea such as Pacific Oysters, Grain Cous Cous Salad, Sautéed Spring Bay Mussels, house favourite Beef Carpaccio and Organic Egg & Spinach Frittata. Then, your mum will be spoilt for choice with the endless rounds of canapes, such as Lime Cured Salmon Eclair, Chestnut Soup, Hokkaido Scallop and Foie Gras with pink ginger strawberry compote.
Choose from a list of solid mains such as Roasted Pork Belly, Pan-fried Barramundi, Roasted Whole Chicken or Wagyu Beef Cheeks before ending the meal sweetly with dessert options such as a Warmed Valrhona Chocolate Tart, Green Tea Financier, Strawberry and Rhubarb Shortcake, Osmanthus Jelly and a refreshing White Peach Sorbet.

TWG Tea
If your mum is a fan of tea, she’ll love the offerings at TWG. Its Mother’s Day Set Menu comes with a delectable Boston lobster spaghetti sautéed with garlic, espelette chilli, paprika and olive oil, accompanied by shimeji mushrooms and garlic flower tempura, and topped with Gyokuro Samurai tea leaves. Dessert is an alluring strawberry pistachio nut tart with mille-feuille cream and Silver Moon Tea infused strawberry jam, topped with a strawberry tuile and accompanied by a scoop of rhubarb sorbet. The meal, of course, would not be complete without a cuppa tea — pair with either the Breakfast Queen Tea, a vivacious blend of green teas delicately balanced by notes of sweet lemon and a hint of noble rose; or the Sweet Romance Tea, a sweet blend of decaffeinated black tea and red berries beautifully accented with notes of raw vanilla bean.

Artemis Grill
For one Sunday only, popular rooftop restaurant and bar Artemis Grill will be opening its doors to celebrate all mothers with panoramic views over Singapore and a special brunch
and dinner menu that is specially crafted by Chef Oliver Hyde just for the occasion. We love that ladies get a complimentary tipple of choice at the pop-up Bloody Mary and Bellini Bar as you await your special three-course brunch to be served. Sharing platters for the table include house-cured salmon tartare with crème fraiche, “Shakshuka” baked eggs with spicy
tomato sauce and spring pea and fava bean crostini with ricotta and dill. For the mains, tuck into hand rolled pasta with ricotta, harissa prawn tabbouleh with bulgur wheat salad, or Jamaican spiced tenderloin with tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, to name but a few. As for the desserts – it’s a high-tea style with bites such as the Tunisian orange cake with cream cheese, “Ferrero Roche” chocolate mousse and raspberry frangipane with pistachio cream. Kids will also get entertained with face painting, toys and children’s movies shown in a private room – all to give mum a well-deserved break.

The Villa
A delicious spread for mum is par for the course, but The Villa is also spoiling her with a complimentary manicure and the chance to create her very own floral bouquet at their floral bar (for the first 50 moms only) to take home. As for the buffet, there’s Halia’s Singapore-style chili crab spaghettini done a la minute, a carving station with Angus beef striploin and lamb leg, a salad bar, seafood on ice, cold appetisers and hot mains such as the pan seared seabass with citrus cream jus broccoli, cherry tomato, baby corn, baby carrot and eggplant caviar, the kaffir lime marinated chicken leg w ith asparagus, eggplant, shimeji mushroom and confit tomato, and the sautéed prawn with Sze Chuan pepper. Dessert is an indulgent mango mousse, raspberry opera, blueberry chocolate tart and a refreshing ice kachang for a sweet conclusion.
