In recent years, digitalisation has been increasingly taking shape in the logistics and shipping sectors, particularly the increasing shift towards automation and efficiency in driving agility and market responsiveness.
This, in turn, has allowed Seaco to tap into the popularity of digitalisation, focusing on automating business processes across its operations and driving efficiency for its staff, business, and over 750 of its customers worldwide.
As one of the world’s largest shipping container lessors, Seaco partnered with Workato, an enterprise automation leader, on its digital transformation journey. This partnership will redefine Seaco’s customer engagement strategies and drive operational excellence in sales across the organisation.
In addition, the firm plans to implement a comprehensive customer segmentation strategy with better touchpoints for customer interaction and build intelligent workflows for managing quotes, contracts, and customer data.

The logistics and shipping industries have been changing rapidly, and business owners are investing rapidly in digitalisation to drive excellence while reducing their overall operating costs.
For instance, the collaboration between Workato and Seaco will also enable Seaco to create an accurate source of truth for core company workflows, which would power better strategic planning, pricing decision-making, and credit approval processes.
On the other hand, Seaco also aims to eliminate manual processes, establish clear standard practices and audits for workflows, and harmonise the use of multiple tools across the organisation.
In addition, the collaboration aims to deliver a streamlined customer experience while setting new standards for service delivery and improving overall customer satisfaction and business performance.
“Seaco’s partnership with Workato is game changing because it’ll allow us to unlock the kind of agility and responsiveness that you’ve never seen before,” said Mr Damian Leach, Chief Information Officer at Seaco. “It’s no longer about pure play automation or integration, or even AI.”
He also shared that the unification of a cohesive enterprise orchestration strategy would enable enterprises to reimagine mission-critical processes, adapt quickly, and deliver greater value to their customers.
The Future of Technology in Logistics
Technology in the logistics industry has been growing over the past few years, with many more initiatives increasingly being adopted by businesses and enterprises.
For instance, local logistics company Ninja Van has adopted tech-enabled parcel tracking in its operations. This plays a crucial role in helping to identify issues sooner, support faster decision-making, and allow businesses to plan more effectively while fostering trust and building confidence for shippers and customers.
In addition, adopting parcel tracking would enable Ninja Van to manage exceptions more effectively. When delays or disruptions occur, real-time visibility enables proactive communication and swift resolution, minimising the impact on customer operations.
Building on the momentum, Seaco is committed to pursuing its vision of unifying integration, automation, and AI on one platform and strategically aligning with Workato’s core strengths and capabilities.
