10 hottest design items from London’s Decorex Virtual

One of Europe’s leading trade shows for luxury interior design has been forced to go online – here're our picks.

The world’s best furniture trade shows were either postponed, cancelled or migrated online last year. Founded in 1978 and held annually in London, Decorex International is one of Europe’s leading trade shows for luxury interior design that usually attracts over 400 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors each year.

It made its online debut on Nov 17 last year in a three-day virtual event with exhibitions, networking sessions and inspiring talks on some of the most pressing issues in interior design.

Highlights included five 360-degree interactive curated spaces with the theme Happy Places by five of the most exciting interior practices in the region and, of course, a slew of innovative and inspiring new products. Here are ten of our picks.

  • Decorex Virtual

Depicting valiant horses galloping through a field of abstract shapes in cream, purple, green and mustard hues, the Brio – meaning vigour, brilliance or energy – wallpaper by Anna Glover is a bespoke artwork created for Decorex Virtual 2020 and references marble, stone, ceramics, lacquers, leather and textiles in homage to all of the materials, craft and design at the 43-year-old trade fair.

Recognising the negative impact of using vinyl for her prints, Anna has experimented with recycled and biosynthetic fibres to create masterpieces for the home that both look good and do good.
