Almost two decades ago, two Australian buddies met up for a beer and came up with the simple idea for a movement. Simply dubbed Movember – a cross between November and mo, or an Aussie slang for moustache – the movement’s goal was simple. Call for greater attention to men’s health vis-a-vis prostate and testicular cancer, as well as mental health and suicide prevention, with the unifying symbol of a well-groomed moustache.
The Movember movement has since spread across the globe, funding over 1,250 men’s health projects with the support of over 6.5 million “Mo Bros” (and Mo Sisters, as their supporters are called). And you can be a part of that too in November, so long as you’re willing and able to grow out a glorious ‘stache. We figure you’d probably want a trusty shaver to keep that face fungus in check, so here’s our pick of fuss-free electric shavers for the cleanest, closest shaves you’d ever want to have.

One of the most luxurious products on the market, and for good reason. It packs a whopping 72 self-sharpening blades, delivering a payload of 165,000 cutting actions per minute — guaranteed to make short work of any stubble, no matter how stubborn. The shave will be pretty comfortable too, thanks to the tri-panelled pentagonal head that hugs the contours of your face as it glides over your skin — emphasis on glides, thanks to a coating of hydrophilic microbeads covering the shaver’s surface. The icing on the cake? It holds an entire hour’s worth of shaving on a single charge.

Another electric shaver that’ll give you a run for your money is the Braun’s Series 9. It promises a similar battery life of one hour — and quick-charge functionality for a single quick shave in five minutes — operating shaving elements on a 10-directional pivoting head. We’re talking 40,000 cutting actions a minute, calibrated by a sensor that detects and adjusts power depending on the density of your beard multiple times a second. It’s equally friendly on wet and dry skin too.

“Six blades are forged from hypoallergenic stainless steel, informed by centuries of Japanese craftsmanship”, reads the description on the listing for the final contender in our list, the Panasonic Arc 6. If that doesn’t convince you, we’re not sure what will. Maybe 84,000 cross-cuts a minute with a shaver head that hugs the skin while moving in 22 independent directions? Or its more-than-decent battery life with 50 minutes of shaving from full, or a three-minute quick charge for three-minutes of action? Guess you’ll have to try it yourself to find out.
