A three-storey house modelled after an urban resort
Interior design firm Metaphor Studio maximised the home’s exposure to matured greeneries to create a relaxed ambience.
When the homeowners of this three-storey house in Jalan Suasa engaged Metaphor Studio for their architecture and interior design work, they highlighted that the design should remain truthful to their needs.
With this in mind, and a 328sqm land area to play with, Metaphor Studio set out to create an urban resort ambiance that will put the homeowners in a relaxed mood the moment they step inside their house.
Nature was a key component in building a restful atmosphere. "The house has a yard on one side, and the scenery of Bukit Timah hill on the other. We maximised the home's exposure to the matured greeneries — which is a luxury — while incorporating various types of privacy for the occupants," says creative director Stephen Goh and design principal Angela Tantry of Metaphor Studio.
To intergrate the interiors with the natural environment surrounding this three-storey house, a neutral and earthy colour scheme was used.
The home features three master suites with ensuite facilities, as well as two bedrooms.
We are in love with this marble-clad bathroom. A timeless design!
Imagine waking up to this view! Despite the long and narrow layout, Metaphor managed to transform it into various arrangements that intertwine indoors and outdoors.
Unfussy lines and a simple colour palette complement the natural silhouettes that the greenery provides.
When designing the home, the Metaphor Studio team ensured they used a design vocabulary that is "neutral to its environment" and without any "overpowering element". This is one way to create a home that will age gracefully.
Common space like the game or family room allow the family to stay connected without sacrificing the privacy of their own homes.
