Phuket’s newest resort wants to cater to your every need – especially the ones you never knew you had.
As one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region, Phuket is, not surprisingly, dense in resorts. Yet, more are opening, including Anantara Phuket Layan Resort & Spa, the luxury- hotel chain’s third on the island.
The property is nestled on the 400m-long Layan Beach on the island’s northwest, at the far end of Bang Tao Bay. Compared to its Thai sisters like the Anantara Phuket Villas and the Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, Layan is significantly more contemporary in design.
But traditional accents still abound – from the generous use of carved wood panels to colourful ornaments – so you’ll never feel like you’re in just another plush hotel.
Rooms start from a generous 56 sq m but you would want to stay in the 485 sq m Anantara Pool Villa, which has two bedrooms, a private pool and garden with beach access, wine fridge, and a packing and unpacking service, on top of the usual hotel amenities.
If you like what you see, you’ll be glad to know that construction is under way for The Residences by Anantara Layan, which consist of 15 pool villas ranging from 1,313 to 2,317 sq m and worth 5 billion baht (S$196 million). This pocket of paradise will be completed in mid-2015, but here’s what you can enjoy now.
