Buckle up, cyclists — a premier Swiss alpine cycling destination has just gotten even better. Andermatt Swiss Alps AG, the company driving the transformation of Andermatt into a thriving 365-day Alpine destination, has officially partnered with Tudor Pro Cycling.
A professional road cycling team, Tudor Pro Cycling was launched in 2022 by the double Olympic Champion Fabian Cancellara. Comprising 47 riders spanning Pro, Devo and Gravel-type racing, the team aims to shake up the world of road cycling through bold approaches. This latest move to Andermatt is part of its commitment to being the best, with the village’s location widely hailed as the mecca of road cycling.
Apart from returning to its roots, the collaboration is set to improve training conditions for the cycling team. Tudor Pro Cycling will now be using Andermatt as its training grounds as the team sets to compete in the Tour de France for the first time this year. In addition to the region’s long, winding routes and scenery, players will benefit from the hospitality and services already available in the village thanks to its spot as a premier tourist destination.
Andermatt is no stranger to cycling. The village, which sits between eight gorgeous mountain passes, has played host to a number of cycling competitions. The Chasing Cancellara, which it has hosted since 2021, is an event series that has cyclists weaving through iconic Swiss destinations. Andermatt also hosts the Alpenbrevet, a cycling marathon that starts and ends in the village with multiple routes of different difficulties offered.
Fabian Cancellara, founder and owner of Tudor Pro Cycling, said on the partnership, “Andermatt holds a special place in my heart, it’s been a key destination for Chasing Cancellara, and now, through this partnership with Tudor Pro Cycling, everything comes full circle. Bringing together performance, passion and the Swiss Alps, this collaboration unites all the elements I care deeply about.”
