On the evening of Friday, 25 July, the Grand Ballroom at Capella was transformed into a theatre of anticipation, drawing together the city’s most discerning guests for a spectacle: the Singapore debut of AVATR and its much-anticipated AVATR 11.

At the invitation of The Peak Singapore and Icon Singapore, tastemakers, business leaders, CEOs, and the city’s motoring cognoscenti converged to experience a reimagining of luxury in the age of intelligent mobility

Even before the evening’s dramatic reveal, AVATR’s intent was palpable. AVATR’s origin story reads like a manifesto — born from a collaboration between Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, three powerhouses in automotive innovation, battery technology, and smart systems. What emerged is less a car, more a proposition: that premium mobility should stir the senses as much as it meets the eye.

Taking centrestage at the front of the ballroom, under a wash of carefully orchestrated lights, the AVATR 11 made its Singapore bow — a vehicle that instantly divides the room between those who view cars as machines and those who see them as objects of desire.

With a silhouette that leans into the drama of a supercar but the practicality of an SUV, the AVATR 11 presents a profile that is both athletic and impossibly sleek. The floating body, signature F-shaped LED lights, and a panoramic sunroof speak the language of spacecraft, while details such as flush electronic door handles and 22-inch wheels — complete with Brembo brakes—signal a seriousness about both design and performance.

Singaporean icon Fann Wong presided over the reveal, joined by Dean Sciole, AVATR’s Chief Global Brand and Communications officer, adding a flourish of local celebrity and international flair. Yet the star power wasn’t confined to the stage; it extended to the engineering beneath the AVATR 11’s sculpted shell.

Available in standard and long-range variants, with batteries sourced from CATL, the AVATR 11 boasts up to 600km of range and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in under seven seconds—a performance made possible by a sophisticated 800V electric drive system and chassis engineered for both stability and agility.

But it is inside the AVATR 11 that the brand’s “Emotive Luxury” philosophy comes alive. Guests, escorted through the car’s doors, discovered a cockpit swathed in Nappa leather, dual zero-gravity seats offering heating, ventilation, and massage modes, and a digital environment anchored by three expansive screens.

A customisable ambient lighting system — 256 hues at your command — and a 25-speaker Meridian audio installation transformed the interior into a sanctuary, one capable of silencing the city outside or flooding the cabin with concert-level clarity.

The evening also featured a rare preview of the limited-edition AVATR 012, the result of a collaboration with fashion visionary Kim Jones. With only 700 units globally, this edition fuses couture sensibilities with technological audacity — a collector’s dream made tactile, and a testament to AVATR’s ambitions well beyond the automotive mainstream.

The launch dinner, a curated Chinese menu, became its own stage for conversation. Here, AVATR’s narrative found resonance: a luxury SUV that understands both the changing expectations of Singapore’s upwardly mobile elite and the ecological urgencies of the region.

By the end of the evening, as guests of The Peak filtered out beneath Capella’s ancient trees, the sense lingered that something genuinely new had arrived. In a city that prides itself on chasing the future, the AVATR 11 didn’t simply join the parade — it redrew the route entirely.
