Amore visceral Huracan is here. Lamborghini Singapore is unveiling the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 at its Suntec City satellite showroom on Thursday (Feb 25).

The Italian super sports carmaker calls the rear-wheel-drive LP580-2 coupe its purest expression of a Lamborghini to date, with the perfect balance of agility, steering behaviour and driveability.

The quick translation? It promises to be more fun to drive.

Lighter than the conventional all-wheel-drive Huracan LP610-4 (down 33 kg to 1,389 kg dry weight), the detuned LP580-2 is viewed as more of an enthusiast’s machine, with better acceleration and a more intense driving experience.

Even with 30 hp less than the four-wheel-drive LP610-4, zero to 100 kmh takes 3.4 seconds on the way to a top speed of 320 km/h. The two-wheel-drive Huracan may be 0.2 seconds slower, but it can be more entertaining, especially if you’re good enough to make it drift. Front/rear weight distribution is 40:60, with the different driving modes – Strada, Sport and Corsa – recalibrated to suit rear-wheel-drive characteristics.

Best of all, the Huracan LP580-2 is also less expensive, commanding only a slight premium over a Porsche 911 Turbo.

Could this be a case of four-wheel-drive good, two wheel-drive better?
