As founder and CEO of Doctor Anywhere (DA), Lim Wai Mun spearheads a transformative journey in the healthtech sector, redefining patient care dynamics and expanding healthtech innovation.
Emphasising the significance of DA's unique approach, Lim articulates, “What sets DA apart is our tech-led and holistic approach to healthcare. As a regional healthcare leader operating in six countries, we've built a diverse range of services within a cohesive ecosystem designed to enhance and simplify access to quality healthcare.”
Starting with the success of DA's virtual healthcare model — founded in 2017 — the company launched DA Orchard MedSuites on February 2. Its opening signifies a strategic move towards offering a more well-rounded suite of services.
Consultations that feel less clinical

It sees collaborations with key partners like COMO Shambhala Singapore and COMO Metropolitan Singapore, signalling DA's commitment to enhancing patient experiences beyond traditional healthcare settings. “DA MedSuites Club Privileges was designed to elevate the experience beyond traditional health screenings, offering VIP Suite and Menu upgrades and access to on-site food and nutrition masterclasses to promote sustainable, healthy dietary habits,” elaborates Lim when speaking about COMO’s Exclusive Club Privileges.
COMO Metropolitan Singapore will offer exclusive stay packages and a comprehensive health assessment at DA MedSuites, allowing guests to enjoy the renowned hospitality of COMO and daily healthy breakfasts at COMO Cuisine, complete with pool and 24-hour gym access.
Navigating Singapore’s healthcare hurdles
With the implementation of DA MedSuites, the company hopes to create another avenue for people to consider when addressing basic healthcare needs. Its flagship product — a telemedicine app — aided in narrowing the gap between patients and healthcare providers, especially during the pandemic, when in-person interactions were restricted.
The app's success was followed by establishing DA Clinic Group, with eight physical clinics across Singapore offering home-based nursing and vaccination services. “These initiatives underscore DA’s mission to make healthcare accessible to all,” Lim says, adding, “Our telemedicine model has really changed how patients and doctors interact, especially after the pandemic. Seeing your doctor virtually from home has made healthcare more convenient and accessible.”
DA's vision to build an integrated and decentralised healthcare ecosystem prompted the acquisition of Asian Healthcare Specialists (AHS) in late 2022. This strategic move enhanced its capabilities beyond primary care, enabling DA to offer a more diversified and holistic range of integrated healthcare services to serve the region.

Its online and offline presence aimed to solidify public trust, moving the company beyond a virtual entity and highlighting its commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare solutions that blend technology with compassionate, human-centred care.
This is but one way of overcoming Singapore’s healthtech obstacles, of which two are fragmented healthcare data and talent acquisition. Lim emphasises that, as one of the key players in the industry, DA works closely with key government agencies to help define and develop regulations for the healthtech industry, foster innovation, and support community healthcare initiatives to drive the adoption of healthtech solutions in Singapore.

Lim envisions a future shaped by advanced technology such as artificial intelligence (AI). He is confident that AI will likely become even more integrated into people’s everyday healthcare experiences in the next five years — “AI has the power to transform the healthtech industry and improve healthcare for everyone”.
In fact, he observes, “We're already seeing AI being used in areas like diagnostic imaging, predictive analytics, and virtual health assistants, and I believe these applications will only continue to grow.” As for DA, it’s focusing on harnessing innovative technologies to enhance healthcare delivery and is looking to progressively introduce Gen-AI solutions across all of our healthcare services and solutions in the coming years.
Lim is hopeful for Singapore’s healthcare industry. He believes in the government's strong support in advancing healthcare system standards, evident in the continuous improvement of healthcare professionals and facilities and the focus on digital healthcare to enhance accessibility and efficiency. To bolster this effort, DA MedSuites combines medical healthcare services with elements of wellness and education to promote preventive health and foster sustainable lifestyle habits.
“This approach — emphasising early detection, intervention, and lifestyle changes — aligns with the broader goal of empowering people to manage their health proactively,” Lim concludes.
