Louis Vuitton has unveiled the third and final chapter of its landmark collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. This new collection marks the 20th anniversary of a partnership that has become one of the most celebrated in modern fashion history.
Launched globally on May 10, Louis Vuitton × Murakami – Chapter 3 coincides with the house’s 2025 Women’s Resort collection. This latest instalment is a jubilant celebration of summer, centred around Murakami’s beloved smiling Cherry motif — as playful characters that epitomise his signature kawaii aesthetic.
Following the success of the first two re-edition chapters, Chapter 3 revisits Louis Vuitton icons such as the Speedy, Alma, and Capucines bags — now reimagined with bold new techniques. A fresh white Monogram colourway serves as a blank canvas, allowing for an innovative 3D-printed effect that brings the cherries to life with vivid, glossy detail.
From ready-to-wear to summer-ready lifestyle products, the collection oozes a cheeky vibe
The collection spans over 70 pieces, including handbags, casual footwear, silk scarves, luggage, and even a whimsical bicycle. Among the standout features are the newly introduced 3D cherry-shaped heels, which debut on the Cherie raffia mule and the Lily mule in embroidered denim, as well as intricate cherry embellishments on zip pulls and fasteners in the Capucines line.
An additional capsule of cherry-embroidered blue denim accessories offers an ultra-collectable dimension, with limited-edition items such as the Pochette Accessoires, the Keepall 45, and season-appropriate gifts like a folding fan and a deck chair. Meanwhile, footwear is given a cheerful refresh, flaunting the gamut from Monogram Cherry ballerinas and platform sandals to crisp white trainers adorned with delicate cherry stitching.
Zendaya stars in the quirky campaign of this Louis Vuitton × Murakami – Chapter 3 collection
To front the campaign, Louis Vuitton house ambassador Zendaya returns, captured in a series of cinematic Mediterranean scenes by renowned photographers Inez and Vinoodh. Set against a surreal backdrop of oversized cherries, the images encapsulate the collection’s blend of high fashion, pop art, and quirky fantasy.
With this final chapter, Louis Vuitton and Murakami reaffirm the enduring impact of their collaboration, which not only shaped early 21st-century fashion but also bridged the worlds of luxury, art, and global pop culture.
