The evening saw over 220 esteemed guests, which included commissioners and ambassadors from all over the world, gathered for an evening of revelry, and for a good cause.
In his opening address, H.E. James Sinclair Manley, Ambassador for the Republic of Chile and Dean of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps Singapore, said: “We are here to celebrate collaboration, the joy of joining efforts to work towards a common goal: helping our children. Disregarding our different backgrounds to celebrate building bridges and new connections”.

Entertainment for the evening included the stylings of veteran maestro Danny Koh & The Goodfellas; a riveting dance performance by the children of The DanceSport Academy; and the smooth, jazz vocals of Daniela Ruggieri.
While some gamely took to the dance floor for an elegant pre-dinner waltz; things started to really heat up with an enthusiastic merengue that saw guests dancing to the beats of Latin America’s unofficial party anthem, La Bilirrubina.

The night’s menu was curated by Shangri-La Hotel Singapore’s executive chef Franco Brodini, who worked with the head chefs of the property’s various restaurants to present a varied menu of international flavours followed by a whimsical dessert buffet. To pair with the food were wines from Concha Y Toro, Latin America’s largest producer of wines.

Proceeds from ticket sales that evening raised $28, 200 for the Singapore Children’s Society, a non-profit organisation that has been looking after the welfare of children in need since 1952.
