The city of Milan returns to its normal pace of life as the frantic Salone del Mobile drew to a close. Over six days in April, an unprecedented 372,151 people from across the world came to gawk at the wares of some 2,400 exhibitors at the largest and most important furniture fair in the world. Brands wowed the crowd with reissues and reinterpretations of long-forgotten gems from their back catalogues, while others showed off fresh creations with collaborating starchitects.
Marble, which has seen a recent resurgence of popularity, continues to be the hottest material for ultra-luxe tables and sideboards, while the world of fashion has lent its sartorial flair to upholstery fabrics. Here are 10 pieces from the fair that caught our attention.
