Located just off upper Orchard Road, the hotel provides a white-hued oasis, a tranquil escape from the city’s vibrant pace. Schrager expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It was a thrill for us to do a hotel in Singapore and to come up with a project as sophisticated and beautiful as the city itself.”
At the core of The Singapore EDITION’s design philosophy is the seamless integration of nature. The architectural layout emphasises sweeping vistas and greenery throughout, featuring a skypark and a lushly planted, sunken garden. The indoor garden itself homes 300 plants and 162 suspended preserved fern spheres, all native to Southeast Asia. This commitment to connecting guests with nature is a standout feature, offering a tranquil escape in the heart of bustling Orchard Road shopping district.
The marbled Lobby serves as an introduction to the hotel’s aesthetic. Gold leaf-covered domed ceilings contrast with floor-to-ceiling windows sheathed in plantation louvres, evoking a tropical ambiance. The architectural design creates an immediate connection between interior and exterior spaces.
The hotel unfolds like a theatrical play, with each level presenting a different personality and unique guest experiences. The Lobby Bar, a visually striking space in sharp pink velvet, features a rose-coloured pool table of Calacutta marble and an oversized pink backlit bar display. Christian Liaigre doe leather chairs and lamps accent the space, creating an atmosphere of opulence.
FYSH at EDITION, the hotel’s restaurant, spearheaded by award-winning chef Josh Niland, is a high vaulted-ceilinged, timbre-lined space. The Australian restaurateur’s first venture outside of Australia offers a sustainable seafood-focused steakhouse menu alongside responsibly sourced vegetables and meats.
The guest rooms, spread across six light-filled floors, are designed for a seamless and soothing experience. Warm white rugs, customised white oak-planked floors, and deep-seated sofas create a comfortable and serene haven. The Singapore EDITION boasts an 81 sqm boardroom and a stunning 340-guest events space with a sprawling 600 sqm pillar-less gallery. The hotel’s bravura moment is reserved for the swimming pool and rooftop terrace. Accessible via The Roof bar, the pool stretches an impressive 43m, seemingly floating over the garden courtyard nine floors below. The rooftop terrace, dressed in terracotta and shades of blue and orange, offers a semi-al fresco setting for guests to chill while enjoying Southeast Asian favourites.
