PORTICO
Named after the Italian word for porch, Portico is a casual restaurant tucked within a leafy low-rise commercial estate in Alexandra. Fine dining-trained head chef Nixon Low and his team plate up innovative tweaks on comfort food – such as wagyu beef cheek with pickled onions, and nashi pear and beer-battered fish and chips made with Pulau Ubin-caught fresh fish – in a homely 60-seater space flush with plenty of sunlight. Beyond its floor-to ceiling glass doors lies a verdant edible garden, and charming alfresco seats that are perfect for an evening tipple or languid weekend brunches.
