Chopard’s Ice Cube design has always held a certain cult appeal among jewellery lovers, thanks to its cool geometry and discreet elegance. And this year, the house gives the contemporary icon a new high jewellery personality with daring new proportions.

Transformed from a minimalist signature into an expressive form of bejewelled finery, this capsule amps up the Ice Cube’s power, playfulness, and versatility without losing the purity and precision that has defined the collection since 1999.

Behind the capsule’s conception is Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s co-president and artistic director, who sums it up as “wearable yet unexpected — like modern art for the body”. Specifically, modular necklaces, skyline-inspired bracelets, and Asscher-cut diamonds are reimagined through crisp geometry.

Reinventing a statement

The hero of the collection is the one-of-a-kind modular necklace, a transformable creation designed not just to be worn but to be styled and and lived in. Crafted in articulated rows of ethical rose and white gold, the necklace features nine rows of cubes that can be removed in sets of three. Think of it as adaptable luxury: a high-impact collar for evening, a sleeker silhouette for daytime, or anything in between.

The cubes themselves play with scale and finish — some are mirror-polished, others pave-set with diamond brilliants. The alternating heights and textures create the impression of movement, almost like light dancing across a metropolis. It nods to the stacking codes of Ice Cube rings and bangles but builds them into something more theatrical and fluid.

This modern architectural spirit continues through three new bracelets, available in three- or six-row designs in ethical rose or white gold, offered either fully or partially diamond-set. A gender-fluid and extremely versatile multi-functional pin brings yet another surprise. Wear it on a lapel, as a tie accent, or even in the hair.

Achieving the immaculate mirror finish on uneven surfaces is a feat few ateliers could manage, which makes Chopard’s in-house gold craftsmanship all the more impressive.

Ode to Art Deco

While Ice Cube has always been defined by its sharp lines, this new chapter introduces a distinctly Art Deco twist through two stand-out pieces defined by the Asscher cut. The first is a dramatically graphic ring that reprises Ice Cube’s signature multi-band silhouette. A striking 3-carat Asscher-cut diamond spans diagonally across two parallel bands of ethical white gold, each set with pave diamond brilliants.

The second creation is a pair of transformable earrings featuring 1.2-carat Asscher-cut diamond solitaires. Its fluid line of 14 diamond-set cubes can be removed entirely or worn asymmetrically to channel an edgy, urban flair. Together, the octagonal geometry of the Asscher cut and the structured cube motif amplify one another.

This Art Deco-meets-metropolis aesthetic is also woven into Chopard’s Sculpted by Light campaign starring Bella Hadid — a longtime admirer of the brand’s craftsmanship and sustainability ethos. Shot by Charlotte Wales, the visuals place the supermodel against a dreamlike cityscape as luminous as she looks.

Chopard continues to craft its Ice Cube creations exclusively from 18-carat ethical gold, aligning with its Journey to Sustainable Luxury commitment, which the Swiss maison has upheld across all its jewellery and watches since 2018. And as bold as the new designs may be, they retain the collection’s core philosophy: achieving breathtaking refinement through meticulous precision. These are ice cubes that will never melt, but they certainly know how to shine.
