A celestial event deserves a celestial timepiece. This April, as the Pink Moon graces the night sky, Swatch is marking the occasion with the release of the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Pink Moonphase.

Much like its astronomical counterparts, this limited-time edition shines but in a delicate yet striking shade of pink — offering collectors and enthusiasts a splendid blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and cosmic inspiration.

The Pink Moon, a full moon that appears in April, is named after the blooming of wild ground phlox, one of Spring’s earliest flowers. This year, the event takes on an added layer of rarity, as it will also be a micromoon, which appears slightly smaller and dimmer due to its position at the farthest point in its orbit around Earth.

However, unlike the softly glowing Pink Moon above, the Mission to the Pink Moonphase promises to shine bright with its pink-emitting Super-LumiNova coating, revealing a world of intricate details in the dark.

The watch itself is delightful in playful yet refined design. Featuring a black and silver-pink opaline dial, the piece de resistance is the moon phase indicator at the 2 o’clock subdial, where two luminescent pink moons rotate beneath the silver-pink mask, glowing vividly in the dark. A secret detail, visible only under UV light, adds a layer of mystery to this already enchanting timepiece.

Staying true to its Speedmaster-inspired heritage, the Mission to the Pink Moonphase carries the signature asymmetrical case, recessed subdials, and a black Bioceramic bezel featuring a pulsometer scale for measuring heart rate. In a cheeky nod to this function, the 2 o’clock push button is embossed with a small heart, reinforcing the watch’s connection to both precision and emotion.

Crafted from Swatch’s innovative Bioceramic, which is a unique blend of ceramic and bio-sourced materials, the watch is lightweight yet durable, ensuring comfort for daily wear. The Omega X Swatch logos are proudly displayed on its dial and crown, while its mission statement is engraved on the caseback.

The battery cover showcases a moon in a stunning array of pink shades, while the neon pink Velcro strap adds a final touch of astronaut chic, echoing the spirit of space exploration that defines the MoonSwatch series.

Those eager to secure a Mission to the Pink Moonphase will have to embrace a bit of adventure. Available only at select Swatch stores, the retail locations will be marked by the appearance of miniature pink Rolling Planets. These themed cars, known for touring the world with the MoonSwatch Collection, have now been miniaturised and will “travelling” to the selected Swatch boutiques.

To find the watch, you’d have to keep track of Swatch’s social media channels where the Rolling Planets will be marking its availability. As with previous MoonSwatch releases, sales will be limited to one watch per person, per day, per location. As the Pink Moon rises on April 12, collectors can now capture its magic on their wrists — before it vanishes into the cosmos.
