These Mikimoto pearls once belonged to Marilyn Monroe

Mikimoto launched The Pearl Necklace, an authoritative volume charting the history of the pearl, on 3 Feb. The event, which was held at JW Marriot South Beach's exclusive NCO Club, was attended by Celeste Basapa, Ruth Yeoh, Jazreel Low and Hossan Leong. Singaporean icons Tjin Lee and Min Lee, who are featured in the book, were also in attendance.

A classic 16-inch cultured Akoya pearl necklace once owned by Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe was exhibited, alongside the Mikimoto Pearl Stream, an 18k white gold body jewellery recently unveiled in Baselworld. There was also a live mannequin showcase with models donning the glorious pearls for all to admire.
