In its recent debut in France, RISIS wowed Parisians with its proprietary innovation of encapsulating real, natural orchids in 24k Swiss gold and high-grade palladium. While this artistry is familiar and long-cherished in Singapore, this is the first time French fashion media, stylists, and tastemakers got up-close with such bejewelled fresh blooms during a month-long pop-up at concept boutique L’ilot 7 in the vibrant Le Marais district.
As part of the event, RISIS hosted an exclusive styling session to showcase its versatile jewellery collection, including the iconic Slider Necklace and Body Chain, which is designed to be worn in six different ways. Among the crowd of editors and social media influencers was Her Excellency Foo Teow Lee, ambassador of Singapore to France.

Highlighting RISIS’ distinctive blend of artistry and adaptability, the demonstration captured the interest of French stylists, many of whom have since requested the pieces for editorial shoots.
Verene Ng, CEO of RISIS, said, “This pop-up marks our first foray into the French market, and serves as a meaningful way for us to understand and connect with the local audience. The French have a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, heritage, artistry, and values that are at the heart of everything we do. We look forward to bringing similar experiences to other key cities, as we continue our journey to make RISIS a globally renowned name in the accessible luxury space.”

Indeed, while Paris is the power centre of fine jewellery, the art of gold-plated flowers, not to mention exotic tropical orchids, is not one that exists within its realm of craftsmanship. And this source of national pride was born out of love — by RISIS founder and scientist Dr Lee Kum Tatt, who’d spent over 20 years devising a way to create an eternal orchid for his wife.
Since 1976, his prototype has become the model for the future development of the RISIS product line-up, which is now a must-have tourist souvenir. Each orchid is hand-selected in full bloom in a climate-controlled facility, then covered with a layer of copper before being immersed in a copper electrolysis bath. Finally, the creation is encased with a layer of cyanide-free and 24k Swiss gold.

Beyond these jewels, Risis also offers a slew of nature-themed collections, including a “si dian jin” bridal collection, contemporary decorative products for the home and office, and even a new selection of SG60 mementos for our nation’s 60th birthday.
