Red Army Watches’ “Majulah Singapura” digital timepiece

Red Army Watches (RAW), a local retailer known for its eclectic offerings, has unveiled a cool and very much collectible timepiece in the lead-up to Singapore’s 60th year of independence. 

A tribute to the enduring spirit and bold ambition of our Lion City, the RAW SG60 blends neo-vintage design, inspirations from our sense of optimism in the 60s and 70s, and of course, our vibrant national colours.

Also a nod to iconic digital watches of the past, such as the Girard-Perregaux Casquette, Amida Digitrend, Bulova Computron, and Mido Swissonic, it boasts a futuristic wedge-shaped, anodised aluminum case with a side-read multi-functional LED digital display powered by an in-house quartz movement.

Designed for intuitive use, its time, date, temperature, alarm, stopwatch, timer, and dual-time functions are activated via a side pusher. To bring the screen to life, a quick 90-degree wrist flick is all you need. As it flashes on, “Majulah Singapura” appears briefly on the screen before fading — a special feature created exclusively for this commemorative edition. 

The black PVD-coated stainless steel caseback also bears a playful engraved message about our collective “glow-up story”, and “unity, hustle, and vibes”. Measuring 40.15mm by 41.5mm with a thickness of 17.3mm at its highest point, this fun creation suits most wrist sizes. 

Strictly limited to 388 individually numbered pieces, each RAW SG60 comes in a custom-designed red travel pod, which is an affectionate tribute to Singapore’s nickname, The Little Red Dot. The compact round case features the official SG60 logomark and houses two interchangeable magnetic-closure rubber straps: one in white, symbolic of our national flag together with the red case, and one in classic black for everyday versatility. 

And to make it easy to wear patriotism on your wrist, RAW is offering a special pre-order price of $288 this month before assuming full retail pricing of $298 in August. Deliveries will begin this National Day, August 9, so you could be one of the lucky ones to wear it while watching the parade.
