Swatch, the well-known Swiss watchmaker, has teamed up with acclaimed Japanese graphic artist VERDY to present an innovative project at the Biennale Arte 2024. Named "VICK BRONZE BY VERDY," this initiative includes a striking art installation and a special edition watch, both centred around VERDY’s popular character, Vick.

Vick, a character combining features of a panda and a rabbit, represents positivity and abundance. Known for his punk music love and distinctive Anarchy logo, Vick is introduced in a colourful new guise at this year's Biennale Arte, marking a significant evolution from his traditional black and white representation.

The collaboration features a 4-metre tall bronze-coloured statue of Vick placed prominently in the Giardini at Biennale Arte. This statue captures Vick's welcoming and playful nature and echoes the design of the limited-edition watch. This artistic partnership highlights the playful and creative essence that Swatch and VERDY both promote.

The limited-edition watch is designed with practicality in mind, sporting a 34mm case that fits all wrist sizes, packaged in an elegant black and gold-coloured box. The design of the watch includes Vick prominently on the dial and strap, with an engaging feature where Vick’s tongue changes colours daily through a cycle of orange, red, pink, and yellow.

This collaboration extends beyond an artistic venture; it serves as a cultural statement. Swatch is recognized for integrating art into their products and marketing, making this collaboration a natural extension of their brand philosophy. VERDY has influenced contemporary graphic art with his unique characters and projects, and this collaboration is a significant addition to his body of work, celebrated at Biennale Arte.

The "VICK BRONZE BY VERDY" project not only showcases the artistic talents and visions of Swatch and VERDY but also aims to engage a new generation of art lovers and collectors. It emphasises the relevance of graphic art in today’s culture and its ability to connect with a wide audience through accessible forms like watches.
