When Victoire de Castellane, artistic director of Dior Joaillerie, was thinking of a name for the new watch and jewellery collection, she took inspiration from the eponymous high jewellery collection launched two years ago.
This time, however, Gem Dior welcomes seven watches into the fold. Each features an irregular, octagonal shape, colour-coordinated jewels such as malachite, lapis lazuli and carnelian and a beautiful asymmetrical bracelet. “This spirit of this collection is modern. It’s a style that I would describe as abstract-organic, an organised disruption that turned out to be a true technical challenge for our ateliers,” de Castellane shares.
We highlight five of our favourites from the collection on these pages.
