Throughout its 110-year legacy of exclusive British automaking, Aston Martin has never been known to do things quietly. That pretty much sums up the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate, a vehicular coda to their second generation of DBS models that also happens to be its most powerful series-production car yet.
This was made possible by iterative engineering tweaks to the twin-turbo, 5.2-litre V12 that now murmurs under the hood of the DBS 770 Ultimate, modifying “air and ignition pathways” to squeeze out a further seven per cent in maximum turbo boost pressure.
The resulting uprated engine pumps out 770PS (or 759hp), hence the vehicle’s name. It’s a fair margin more than the 715hp that comes with other DBS cars, though performance metrics released by the brand suggests that it doesn’t really translate to outright speed – the DBS 770 Ultimate sprints to 100kmh in 3.4 seconds, while topping out at 340kmh.
