01: COMO Dempsey
The permanent home to COMO Cuisine, COMO Dempsey brings the once exclusive fare to the lush Dempsey Hill. Previously only available as a pop-up at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix’s Paddock Club, the menu is defined by clean, bold flavours with a contemporary touch, as epitomised by favourites like the Shrimp Ceviche and the Big Raw Salad with fresh, spiralised veggies. There are also new creations inspired by traditional cuisines of the Indian subcontinent, such as the Lamb Kofta cooked with coconut charcoal, and a chaat made from Spanish-styled Padron peppers. The family-friendly restaurant also serves a kid’s menu designed to encourage adventurous eating, as well as a holistic menu co-created by sister brand COMO Shambhala.
02: Panko
Another snazzy concept by hospitality giant Unlisted Collection, Panko is Singapore’s latest kushikatsu restaurant, serving up deep-fried meat, seafood and vegetables on sticks. Coated in a special egg batter and dipped in panko breadcrumbs, the skewers make for easy eating, especially with a side of the Japanese-focused drinks list. Besides the usual suspects, you’d find the likes of shishito peppers, ginko nuts, chicken cartilage, wagyu beef, komochi konbu (herring roe with kelp), stuffed squid, and konnyaku on the kushikatsu menu, together with a selection of sushi, sashimi, donburi, and noodles. The restaurant’s dapper interior is underlined with neon lights for a cyberpunk feel that fits seamlessly with the energetic vibe around Haji Lane.
03: Providore Downtown
The new flagship store of the gourmet food and lifestyle brand, The Providore Downtown brings all their different concepts – café, deli, bakery, grocery, wine and liquor shop, and cooking studio – under one roof, while also debuting the new Fresh & Go takeaway counter, a juice bar, a fresh produce section, a live coffee-roasting station, a walk-in cheese room, as well as an events space. Housed in the swish Downtown Gallery, the store offers a café menu of casual meals like lobster mac & cheese, grass-fed beef burger and crab linguine, as well as a selection of meze and pides (Turkish pizza) from Fresh & Go kitchen in the evening.
