Zafferano

Perched on the 43rd level of the Ocean Financial Centre in the heart of the CBD, one of the highlights at Zafferano is clearly the panoramic view of the city’s skyline it offers. Frequented by executives around the area, this is an ideal spot for business entertainment. Tables are comfortably spaced within the plush dining area for formal meals, and post-work drinks can be had at the balmy outdoor terrace lounge.

The menu features high quality ingredients flown in from Italy, and dishes are mostly well executed. You can’t go wrong with rich, creamy burrata paired with sweet, juicy San Marzano tomatoes, a scattering of basil leaves and a splash of Sicilian extra virgin olive oil. A simple Italian classic, it perfectly showcases the freshness of the ingredients used here.

Other standouts include a handmade agnolotti: each parcel is filled with 24-hour marinated oxtail and accompanied by a mild celeriac puree. Mains-wise, the 12 hours slow-cooked US prime beef short ribs are tender, moist and full of flavour. The cubes of beef are partnered with veal reduction and seasonal vegetables like Romanesco broccoli and artichokes.

To pair with your meal, there is an extensive selection of New and Old World wines by the glass plus over 200 premium Italian labels to choose from. The restaurant even boasts a custom-designed, walk-in wine cellar, featuring 1000 bottles of wine – definitely a beautiful sight for the wine aficionado.
