Join us at the Wine Pinnacle Awards 2022 to raise a toast to the best bottles in a five-day event organised by Resorts World Sentosa. From Oct 28 to Nov 1, the prestigious celebration includes wine dinners, masterclasses, and informative symposiums, before culminating in a black-tie award ceremony.

You can expect a gathering of the brightest minds — and sharpest noses. It provides the perfect setting to mingle with fellow oenophiles: Masters of Wine, sommeliers, winemakers, and Michelin-starred chefs — all of whom celebrate a common passion for wine.

A wine award ceremony unlike any other, its unique curation approach makes for a fair, inclusive, and above all, representative judging process. There are no restrictions on the origin of wines, allowing the Wine Pinnacle Awards to spotlight prized sips and possibly reveal hidden gems.

Judged by renowned wine experts and sommeliers

From the beginning, the award categories have been dynamic and updated to reflect industry trends. The list — one that is most indicative of current developments and vintages — is defined by a technical committee, consisting of renowned sommeliers and experts.

This year, the award categories are: Best Mature Wines, Best Recent Releases, and Comfort Wines Under 40 Euros (S$56). Other accolades include the Best Friend Of The Earth (sustainable winery) and a personality-focused Pandemic Hero Award chosen by the technical committee.

“During these uncertain times, wine can ignite small, shared moments of joy, pleasure, or comfort,” shares Jeannie Cho Lee, Asia’s first Master of Wine and the technical committee chairwoman. “We hope you will celebrate with us, to applaud the wine and the people behind them that have sparked these moments of joy.”

In addition to the Wine Pinnacle Awards ceremony, the five-day event includes masterclasses, a wine industry symposium and gourmet dining experiences.

She is joined on the technical committee by Doug Frost, one of only four people in the world to hold both titles of Master Sommelier and Master of Wine, Swedish sommelier Andreas Larsson, Japan’s only Master of Wine Kenichi Ohashi, and British wine writer Oz Clarke.

They have assembled an independent jury — a well-respected panel of 61 wine professionals from more than 18 countries — to determine the world’s best wines. Votes are cast via a secure online portal, and winners are announced at the award ceremony on the final day.
