It may still be a while until Christmas, but Singaporeans excel at being prepared. Whether you’re searching for a showstopping centrepiece, a thoughtful gift, or the perfect cake to round off a festive feast, here are nine amazing logcakes, for every celebration.
1. Alice Boulangerie
Artisanal French Bakery Alice Boulangerie brings back its signature train-shaped log cake: in a new winter-white rendition. Built on a brown sugar sponge and wrapped in a snowy layer made of coconut mousse, the cake has mango compote at its centre and passionfruit curd on its top, adding a playful pop of colour to this whimsical creation.

For an alternate train inspired log cake, look no further than Colony Bakery of The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Their festival Ritz-Express cake evokes holiday train journeys, made of orange confit sponge, bourbon vanilla cream, and raspberry layers, to make a sweet locomotive.
The hotel’s menu also features a circular log cake, the Crimson Noel Cake which pairs chocolate fudge sponge with Guanaja 70% dark chocolate crémeux and raspberry glaze.

3. The Singapore EDITION
The Singapore EDITION’s Lobby Bar offers a slew of sweets and treats for the festive season. While most of their selection comes in petite form, their logcakes are full sized. These cakes, referred to by the traditional name Buche de Noel, come in three editions. A more classic option is the Cognac Chocolate, with a molten chocolate centre, rum and cognac ganache for a deep flavour, and a rich dark cacao mousse.
Other options include a Citrus Vanilla flavour, made with Madagascar vanilla ganache, vanilla mascarpone mousse, and orange marmalade; as well as a more unique Praline Mango-Yuzu option, a chocolate sponge cake with hazelnut crumble, mango passionfruit sauce, mango yuzu cremeux and runny praline.

Conrad Singapore Marina Bay’s The Terrace has a varied collection of log cakes for the season, some familiar, some imaginative. For those who prefer more traditional options, the Milk Chocolate Peanut Caramel Yule Log stands out as a great option. For others who like a greater variety, the Chendol Gula Melaka Yule Log will be preferred. It brings a distinctly Singaporean touch to the classic dessert with coconut dacquoise, chendol jelly, and Gula Melaka mousse.
The hotel’s festival collection also include other types of cakes, including a showstopping Gingerbread Carousel Cake and a sculptural Almond Chocolate Christmas Tree. Guests can also opt for smaller options, such as fruity and chocolate Panettone, Marzipan stollen, and assorted pralines for gifting.
