Artisanal French Bakery Alice Boulangerie brings back its signature train-shaped log cake: in a new winter-white rendition. Built on a brown sugar sponge and wrapped in a snowy layer made of coconut mousse, the cake has mango compote at its centre and passionfruit curd on its top, adding a playful pop of colour to this whimsical creation.

For an alternate train inspired log cake, look no further than Colony Bakery of The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Their festival Ritz-Express cake evokes holiday train journeys, made of orange confit sponge, bourbon vanilla cream, and raspberry layers, to make a sweet locomotive.

The hotel’s menu also features a circular log cake, the Crimson Noel Cake which pairs chocolate fudge sponge with Guanaja 70 per cent dark chocolate crémeux and raspberry glaze.

The Singapore EDITION

The Singapore EDITION’s Lobby Bar offers a slew of sweets and treats for the festive season. While most of their selection comes in petite form, their logcakes are full sized. These cakes, referred to by the traditional name Buche de Noel, come in three editions. A more classic option is the Cognac Chocolate, with a molten chocolate centre, rum, and cognac ganache for a deep flavour, and a rich dark cacao mousse. 

Other options include a Citrus Vanilla flavour, made with Madagascar vanilla ganache, vanilla mascarpone mousse, and orange marmalade; as well as a more unique Praline Mango-Yuzu option, a chocolate sponge cake with hazelnut crumble, mango passionfruit sauce, mango yuzu cremeux and runny praline.

Conrad Singapore Marina Bay

Conrad Singapore Marina Bay’s The Terrace has a varied collection of log cakes for the season, some familiar, some imaginative. For those who prefer more traditional options, the Milk Chocolate Peanut Caramel Yule Log stands out as a great option.

For others who like a greater variety, the Chendol Gula Melaka Yule Log will be preferred. It brings a distinctly Singaporean touch to the classic dessert with coconut dacquoise, chendol jelly, and Gula Melaka mousse. 

The hotel’s festival collection also include other types of cakes, including a showstopping Gingerbread Carousel Cake and a sculptural Almond Chocolate Christmas Tree. Guests can also opt for smaller options, such as fruity and chocolate Panettone, Marzipan stollen, and assorted pralines for gifting.

Led by executive pastry chef Jason Goh, the Lobby Lounge’s lineup features three stunning cakes. The first is the Mont Blanc Eclat Yule Log, a circulate, cerulean blue option featuring redcurrant confit and chestnut silk cream topped with a delicate fromage blanc angel.

In vivid seasonal red is the La Cerise Royale, which houses a morello cherry confit, caramel mousse, and nutmeg crémeux inside. These two cakes only come as a full, 1kg option.

For a more classic option, guests can opt for the Spiced Citrus Noir Yule Log. It is filled with Fleur de Cao dark chocolate mousse, vanilla custard, and apricot rosemary confit, and comes in two sizes, 1kg and 500g.

At its newly opened ION Orchard outlet, Violet Oon presents a VO Coconut Log Cake that puts a local spin on the classic: a rolled angel sponge layered with fresh coconut flesh and coated in coconut-infused cream. 

The wider seasonal collection includes festive cakes options such as Christmas Sugee Cake brushed with brandy, a kirsch-laced Black Forest Cake, a Tropical Fruit Cake studded with pineapple and coconut, and a Gula Melaka Crumble Cake enriched with rum and cashew topping. First is the playful Enchanted Forest Log Cake, shaped into a whimsical woodland scene complete with Santa, a snowman, and a reindeer; inside, pandan sponge, gula jawa namelaka, and coconut mousse give it a local touch.
