French pastry chef-turned-social media sensation Cedric Grolet is known for his fruit-shaped trompe-l’œil confections, and he has created a delightful platter of them in his take of a Christmas logcake. Simply called Signature Fruits, the vanilla block is sandwiched with tart lemon, orange and grapefruit filling and crisp Japanese citrus biscuit. Topping it off is a gorgeous spread of ‘fruit’ - oranges, lemons, apples and more - all filled with fresh marmalade. Grolet has also rolled out a flower version of the logcake emblazoned with cream, white orange flowers and filled with tropical flavours like coconut, passionfruit, mango and lime.

Besides the logcakes, there are also six cakes that are part of his Winter Collection. Highlights include the Christmas Red Flower, which is impeccably piped into a rose petal with intricate folds. The petal is actually chocolate vanilla ganache that eleantly plied on chocolate dough, cocoa nib praline, vanilla gel and chocolate sponge. The Chestnut is a chestnut-shaped confection interpretation of peanut butter and blackcurrant jelly sandwich.
