American luxury fashion house Coach is upping its stakes as a lifestyle brand with the opening of The Coach Restaurant in Jewel Changi Airport in October.
This makes Singapore the first country to have all three food and beverage concepts that are associated with the 84-year-old company, which is best known for its range of handbags, luggage and accessories that are emblazoned with its iconic C logo.
The 56-seat New York-style steakhouse restaurant, which overlooks the Jewel Rain Vortex, features dishes cooked in an open wood-fired oven, paying homage to the brand’s hometown. Accompanying the food are cocktails and an all-American wine list.
This opening follows the launch of the world’s first Coach Restaurant in Jakarta in March 2024. The restaurant in Grand Indonesia Mall serves USDA Prime and Australian tenderloin, New York Strip and ribeye steaks, alongside Seafood Tower and Maine lobsters. Other classic steakhouse dishes include the jumbo lump crabcake, shrimp cocktail and steak tartare.
The opening of Coach Restaurant Singapore is set to expand its footprint in the immersive world of lifestyle experiences that blend fashion, culture, and community. There is a Coach retail boutique in Jewel Changi Airport.
In July, Coach opened The Coach Coffee Shop in Resorts World Sentosa, offering American-style sandwiches, such as Reuben and grilled cheese sandwiches, and cheeseburgers. The store in lifestyle enclave Weave also serves American cruller-style donuts, drinks and soft-serve, including chilli crab, a Singapore-exclusive flavour.
There’s also the Coach Play Singapore shophouse in Keong Saik Road, which houses a New York-inspired Coach Bar, which serves Martinis, and cocktails like the Waldorf Highball and Cosmopolitan, alongside a raw bar and bar bites. The shophouse space used to house its cafe in April 2023, its maiden foray into the F&B realm.
Coach is part of a growing trend of fashion retailers moving into the F&B space, tapping into food and hospitality to engage current and new customers. Other brands include Prada Caffe in Ion Orchard and Ralph’s Coffee by Ralph Lauren.
